IV. Purpose of data processing

Each time our website is accessed, the RWTH Aachen University server temporarily stores your IP address. According to the GDPR, the IP address belongs to your personal data. Temporary storage of the IP address through the system is necessary to deliver the website to the user’s computer. To this end, the user’s IP address must be stored for the duration of the session. Whenever our website accessed, the browser used on the end device automatically sends data and information from the computer system of the accessing computer to the server of RWTH Aachen University and temporarily stores it in a so-called server log file. We do not have any influence on this. The following data may be collected in this process:

The data is stored in the log files of the University's system. This data is not stored together with other personal data of the user.

V. Possibility of Objection and Remedy

The collection of data for the purpose of providing the website and the storage of data in log files is absolutely necessary for the operation of the website. Consequently, there is no possibility of objection on the part of the user.

VI. Purpose of Data Collection, Deletion

Temporary storage of the IP address through the system is necessary to deliver the website to the user’s computer. To this end, the user’s IP address must be stored for the duration of the session. The data listed under IV. is used for the purpose of optimizing the website and ensuring the safety of information technology systems. The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer necessary for carrying out the purpose of its collection. Typically, data is deleted seven days after its storage at the latest.

Aside from the data as listed under III., whose collection and short-term storage is necessary for technical reasons, this website does not collect or store any data. The Lehrstuhl Digital Additive Production (DAP) will neither store nor process any data

If you contact us by e-mail, the information you provide will be stored for the purpose of processing your enquiry and for possible follow-up questions in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR. In addition, we store your data to defend legal claims, if necessary, and due to legal retention periods.

XII. Modification of our Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to adapt this privacy policy from time to time so that it always meets current legal requirements or reflects changes to our services in the privacy policy, e.g. when introducing new services. The new data protection declaration then applies to your next visit of our website.
